Well a week or so ago, i got a PM on another car forum i am on from a local SRT-4 owner. anyway he said he just did a motor on a 6 and that the motor he pulled ran, but the cats were clogged and thus the it had a lot of blow by. i instantly though, must be the rings. but if it was running its a usable rebuild motor.

the guy said the motor didnt have a core so he just wanted to get rid of it and said i was the only person he knew of that could get some use out of it. so i asked how much he want for it.

We agreed on $200..........full motor, clutch, flywheel, upper and lower intake mani, injectors, coils, and whole harness, throttle body and etc.

so my motor build can officially get under way. here's some pics:















i will be tearing down this entire motor down to nuthin, and i will make a FULL how-to on each component as i go if a can remember to take pics, and write down bolt sizes and etc, lol

there may be a possible part out of some of the stuff at a later date. but right now its too early to tell what i will be keeping and what i wont accessory wise. i'll keep u in mind tho Tim if i decide to sell the Covers

Or all the stuff that I was able to break when I spun a rod bearing... ahem, crankshaft, lower half of short block, oil pump, etc.

Any idea on the time frame for when you'll be getting in the new parts?

no timeframe yet, but i will work as fast as my house renovation budget let me, lol. the teardown will be pretty quick. its only the parts that are expensive IE- forged stuff. but i should make good progress. i have some extra missions and shit coming up at my job, so thats extra income. i wish i was rich, and sometimes even wish i had stuff given to me by rich parents like some people in the car game. but thats not the case, lol

but it should be fun either way. the ultimate payoff will be the capability of running 20+psi. Yummy!
